SKC won its first road over Colorado Rapids over 11 years. The Canasus City had gone 0-6–5 at the Sporting Goods Park of Dick to win 3–2 on March 29, 2014.

Mihleovic hit the woodwork again in the second minute of the stops time just before Haftime. He exploded a right-foot shot from outside the box, which went away from the right post and then cut into the 6-yard box in front of the goal line.
Thomi made it 2–0 in the 53rd minute with his fourth goal, fielding a long pass from the pulsecamp and then draped around three rapids guards outside the top of the box before destroying a right-leg shot in the right corner.
Rapids cut it into the right corner in the 89th minute in the 89th minute, when Darren Yapi was implicated in the box by SKC defender Ian James.
