Legendary South Africa cricket team fast bowler Shaun Polk said that he would be surprised to see MS Dhoni playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL next year and said that the team is ready to move forward under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhoni was once again captained when Ruturaj was excluded due to injury, but it did not make CSK luck. The five -time champions have been ruled out of the IPL 2025 playoff race after losing eight out of eight of their ten matches so far. Pollock said that Dhoni has nothing else to achieve and all this will come in the legacy he wants to leave behind.

“I don’t think (CSK needs Dhoni in the next season). He is to step into step because Gikwad is injured. He has nothing else to achieve. He has won anyone to win. It is going down. It is going down to what he wants that he has left due to heritage and he has the kind of impact that you are waiting for. The owners have a word?

Legendary Australia cricketer Adam Gilchrist said the decision would eventually rest with Dhoni.

“He is an icon. He is above the hall of fame. He has set a standard for anyone trying to go to that hall of fame in this tournament. It is going to be a long time, before the creation of a player can have such an impact and can have a legacy of IPL cricket. Whatever happens, whatever happens, he could not say anything to reflect whatever happens.
