“Has not worked …”: Pat Cummins reflects SRH Fall for the sixth necklace of IPL 2025 vs Mi




Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins admitted that the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday was “never going” after facing his sixth defeat of the 2025 season. SRH went down by seven wickets in Mumbai Indians (Mi) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here after reduced by 35/5 in 8.3 overs, it was a 99-run stand between Heinrich Klassen and Abhinav Manohar, which helped SRH to a respected clan of 143/8. Klassen scored 71 runs in 44 delivery, scoring 71 runs by breaking nine borders and two sixes. Manohar supported him with a valuable 43 in 37 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

Speaking after the match, Cummins praised the pair for their fightback.

“Klassen and Abhinav did well to get us a total,” he said.

SRH will now be a hit on the road for its upcoming fixtures and rebuilding things.

Coming into the match, MI won the toss and opted for the first field. The five -time champion had dropped SRH down and out at 35/5, but Henrik Klassen (71 with 44 balls, 71 with nine fours and two sixes) and Abhinav Manohar (43 in 27 balls with 43, two fours and three sixes) to 143/8 in his 20 overs.

Trent Bault was with the top wicket of MI with 4/26 in four overs. Deepak also chose 2/12 in four overs. Pandya and Bumrah got one wicket.

During the run-chase, a 64-run stand between Will Jack (22 in 19 balls, two fours and one with six) and a 53-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav inspired MI to an easy win of seven wickets in 15.4 overs. Rohit made his second -CC fifty, scored 70 in 46 balls, with eight fours and three sixes. Suryakumar remained unbeaten at 40* in 19 balls, with five fours and two sixes unbeaten with Tilak Verma (2*).

Ishaan Malinga, Zeeshan Ansari and Jaydev Unadkat got every wicket.

The MI has climbed third in the points table, with five wins and four defeats, he got 10 points and his fourth gradual win. SRH ranks ninth with two wins and six defeats, giving him just four points.
