Harsha Bhogle, Simon Dold Red-Flagged, BCCI urged not to comment in Eden Gardens: Report

Several Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, the captains and coaches, amid complaints against the home pitch curator, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has asked the Control Board of Control for Cricket in India to ban Harsha Bhogle and Simon Dol from commenting on matches at the Eden Garden. The Cab was requested after doll and bhogle that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) suggested going out of the city on the lack of support of the house curator in preparing the pitches as per the demands of the franchise.
According to a report by Revsportz, the State Association has presented a strong word paper to BCCI, which has been urged by bar comments to Harsha Bhogle and/or Simon Doll, which is from commenting on any match at the Eden Garden in the ongoing IPL season.
In a chat on Cricbuzz, Doull suggested that a franchise led by Ajinkya Rahane should find a new home ground if there is a lack of cooperation from the eden garden curator.
“If she is (curator), it is not paying attention to what the domestic team wants … I mean, they are paying the stadium fees, they are paying for what is going on in the IPL, but if the home team is still not paying attention to what they want, then just take the franchise somewhere else.
Harsh Bhogle also resonated his feelings. “If they are playing at home, (they) should receive the track they think they think are favorable for their bowlers. I have seen something (about) what KKR curator said,” he said.
However, the cab biased the subject with curator Mukherjee, suggesting that he has done nothing wrong and only following the BCCI Rules Book, stating that no franchise can determine the nature of the pitch to be prepared at a site.
KKR captain Rahane asked Mukherjee to prepare more spin-friendly wickets, which helps the stars of franchise such as Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narin, but the wicket has often come out to promote more speed-friendly, high-scoring competitions.
The cab is of the opinion that the curator has followed the guidelines how the wicket should be prepared.
However, according to the report, no official response has been received from the BCCI yet, neither Harsha Bhogle nor Simon Doll is expected to comment on the IPL match at Eden Garden on Monday as host KKR has taken Gujarat Titans.
It should also be noted that the final of IPL 2025 is also going to be held in Eden Garden on 25 May.
