Hardik wins sixth on Pandya’s MI Trot, after defeating RR, IPL playoffs in an inch

IPL 2025: Mi went to register his sixth win over Trott in the competition when he lost four of the first five matches.

If RR vs Mi Clash happens on Thursday, the team led by Hardik Pandya can be very well to claim the sixth IPL title. All the teams have won their sixth match on Trott this season – when they scored 100 runs at their home to Rajasthan. And as a result, crossing the RCB, on top of the table, with 14 points for now.

MI Register 6 Win on Trot

What these six matches have done for MI, not only they have brought the team back to recording for IPL 2025 playoffs, but have also created a belief in the side, that they can script a success story like IPL 2015, where they were down and out around this time. After the end of 5 matches, Mumbai were in the lower half, won only one match. But from there they defeated – DC, SRH, CSK, SRH, LSG, and now RR.

This also means that the side has won 6 consecutive wins in the IPL for the third time, taking the first time in 2008, and then in 2017. It said that, it is not an IPL record; KKR won 10 in IPL 2014-15, but given the form of Mumbai, that possibility cannot be rejected. Meanwhile, despite losing the toss, coming back in the match, MI was under total control since the beginning of the match.

IPL playoffs are not far away

Starting with Ryan Ryon Ricelton (61) and Rohit Sharma (53), the inaugural pair went on a fierceness against an RR team, without their best pacer Sandeep Sharma. Former MI captain, Rohit scored fifty consecutively, and scored 6,000 runs for the franchise.

After he left, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav continued with speed and scored 48 runs from 23 balls, eventually finished with 217/2. Come to Rajasthan’s batting, he never saw in the game. The final match Centurion vs. GT, 14 -year -old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out for a duck, and from there, no batsman could just distribute.

In one phase, the hosts were reduced to 47/5, and were eventually excluded for 117. All Mumbai bowlers clung to the wickets. Jasprit Bumrah was excellent with a figure of 2/15 in his 4 overs. Karn Sharma went a step ahead and achieved 3/23. And that failure for RR meant, they are officially out of the playoff race for IPL 2025.
