The ongoing version of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. After the match number 58 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital, a sudden said in Dharamsala, the BCCI issued a statement for a week about the suspension of the IPL. Prior to suspension, the teams were fighting for a position in the playoffs and the fight with every passing game was becoming more intense. Lucknow Super Veteran, who claimed only five wins after 11 games, is one of the aspects that are out of the playoff race.
Commenting on the status of LSG, former India coach Sanjay Bangar slammed his captain Rishabh Pant and said that he had not yet got a rhythm in the white ball cricket.
The pants were purchased by LSG at a record price of Rs 27 crore, but failed badly to live up to expectations. After 11 matches, Pant scored only 128 runs.
“We have to identify that he still make no mistake about white-ball game formats, 50 over cricket as well as a great Test match batter, but in this special season, I saw that he walked out several times to play shots behind the wicket.”
“Now, you take out Rishabh’s best innings – where he has scored? Drives through the cover, takes the track down and tries to hit the visuuscreen or go to the midwicket, square. The ground,” he said.
Prior to suspension, LSG’s last defeat came against Punjab Kings, where he lost by 37 runs in Dharamasala. In the ongoing season, the pants will definitely improve and bounce the remaining games.
