God to host 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup final




The International Cricket Council announced on Thursday, the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground will host the final of the Extended Women’s T20 World Cup on July 5 next year. The 12-Team tournament will start from June 12 and will have 33 matches facilities, concluding at a Grand Finale at Lord’s, which also hosted the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup final. In addition to Lord’s, six other venue matches will stage, including Old Trafford, Headingly, Edgbaston, The Oval, Hampshire Bowl and the Bristol County Ground.

The tournament will feature two groups, followed by a knockout stage. The detailed program will be announced in the appointed time.

Eight teams including Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies are already eligible. The remaining four spots will be decided through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers in 2025.

ICC President J Shah said, “The rich diversity of the United Kingdom has always shown emotional support for all teams.”
