Glenn Gulutzan hired for the second term as the head coach of the stars

Glenn Gulutzan is getting another chance behind the bench of Dallas stars.

The stars hired Gulutzan as the team’s head coach on Tuesday.

53 -year -old Gulutzan replaced Pete Debor, which was fired by the team on 6 June, when Dallas lost in the final of the Western Conference for the third straight season.

The stars had earlier entrusted their first NHL head coaching opportunity to Gulutzan. He went to 64–57–9 in two sessions in Dallas before being fired on May 14, 2013.

Team general manager Jim Nil said, “We are thrilled to name Glenn as the head coach of Dallas stars.” “Since its previous time in Dallas, Glenn has tirelessly attempted to establish himself as one of the most respected coaches in NHL. His broad NHL experience, both as an head coach and auxiliary coach, creates relationships with their players with their ability to innovate and adapt to modern sports.

“Glenn has worked with some of the world’s best players and has discovered ways to maximize his skill set to contribute to the success of the team. We are confident that he is the right person to raise our team to the next level.”

Gulutzan spent two seasons as the head coach of the Calgary Flames from 2016-18 and posted a point of 82-68-14. After being dismissed after his second season, he reshuffled for other Alberta team, Admonton Oilrs, where he has worked as an assistant coach, to help the club to help the club in the last two sessions in the last two sessions.

“Me and my family are excited to come back to Texas, where I started my NHL coaching trip over a decade ago,” Gulutzan said. “The gym and their employees have created a roster which is one of the most talented and deepest throughout the league.

“The correct pieces are to compete for the Stanley Cup on an annual basis. I am ready to go to Dallas and start preparing for the next season.”

According to the stars, Ellen Nasreddine (Assistant Coach), Jeff Reese (goal coach), Patrick Dolan (Head Video Coach) and Chris Demjuk (Assistant Video Coach) will return to the team.

Under the 57 -year -old Debor, the stars fell into the six matches in the final of the Western Conference in 2023 and in 2024 and 2025 respectively and in six and five matches in 2024 and five matches.
