The Birmingham Test isn’t far and after toiling hard on June 27, several big-name Indian players skipped practice on Saturday. Kuldeep Yadav is likely to play at Edgbaston after the team management wants to follow the Virat Kohli method. Rohit Sharma is the reason behind KL Rahul’s success in the last 12 months. Shreyas Iyer was rightfully ignored for the India vs England Test series, as per an opener. Smriti Mandhana broke several records in Nottingham. And lastly, an FIR has been filed against an RCB player.

Gill-Pant skip practice
Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal decided to skip the optional practice session on Saturday. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna bowled in the nets after deciding to work on their catching and fitness yesterday. A Punjab Kings player also paid a surprise visit and bowled to the batters in the nets.

Kuldeep Yadav in India’s Playing XI
Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir have decided to follow Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri’s method of success. After losing the Headingley Test due to playing a bits-and-pieces player, Shardul Thakur, they have decided to follow their predecessor’s 5-bowler approach. It’s virtually confirmed that Kuldeep Yadav will play in Birmingham, replacing Shardul.

Yash Dayal in legal trouble
RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal has been accused of physical and mental harassment by his alleged partner. The women allege that they have been in a relationship for the last five years and both of their families have met each other. An FIR has been lodged against Dayal and an official complaint has also reached UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s office.

Shreyas Iyer’s time in Test cricket will come
