Compulsory Credit: Eric Cane-Imgon Picture Garat crochet threw a full-game shutout and Boston Red Sox on Saturday raised his winning streak with a 1-0 win over Tampa Bay rays in nine matches.
Crochet (10–4) placed Tampa Bay in three hits, excluded nine and a batsman did not run.
This is the first time Crochet has created a complete game in its MLB career. He did not play more than 8 1/3 innings in a game before Saturday.
Tampa Bay’s only hits Yandi Diaz, Kartis Mead and Taylor were single.
Six years earlier this year, Crocket, who signed a contract of $ 170 million, recorded at least seven strikeouts in each of his previous nine outings. He threw 100 pitches, out of which 72 were attacks.
His entire game came at a welcome time as Boston left the second innings on Friday night after starting Pitcher Hunter Dobins.
Tampa Bay got a strong start from Shane Baz, who placed Boston on a run of five hits in 6 1/3 innings. The eagle (8-5) killed three and two went away. This was the beginning of his fourth straight quality.
The rays have lost five of their last six matches.
Boston scored the only run of the game at the bottom of the fourth innings. Roman Anthony hit an out-out double and scored on a Carlos Narwaz single.
Tampa Bay had a chance to tie the game, when she had runners in the first and third place in the sixth, but Boston’s first baseless Abraham Toro threw the walls in the plate, when Ha-Seong Kim tried to squeeze the security. The rays were challenged, but the call was retained.
Red Sox still reinforced, even though he was held for five hits and was 1 -for -10 with runners in scoring positions.
The teams wrapped the four-game series on Sunday in the final game before the all-star break.
