
Marco Rese and Diego Fagundez scored goals and Los Angeles Galaxy continued their recent strong game with a 2–1 win over DC United in Carson, California on Saturday night.
Los Angeles (3–13–6, 12 digits) has recovered from the worst beginning in MLS history (0–12-4) to score points in five of its last six matches (3–1-2).
Gabriel Pirani scored a goal for DC United (4–11-7, 19 points), who played his first match under interim coach Kevin Flangan. The club fired Troy Lesne on Thursday.
Galaxy stopped the four-match Winless Streak (0-2-2) against DC United. Los Angeles last reinforced the series with a score of 4–1 in 2016.
Luis Baraza made three savings for DC United, while Novak Mikovic had two for Galaxy.
Los Angeles had a 13–11 lead in shots and placed five on the target for three of DC United.
The sequence for the first goal of the Galaxy included taking a left leg shot in the Julian Aud, which was blocked by DC United’s Lucas Bartlet in the 23rd minute. The ball went to the rese, which sent a right leg shot to the net in a distant post.
Los Angeles again blocked a shot with Bartlet in the 53rd minute-it was a right-one-leg by Joseph PentSil. The rebound went straight to an uncontrolled Phagundez to the left and placed a right-leg shot inside the nearby post.
DC United reached the scoreboard in the about 62nd minute, but Brandon Sarveania’s right -leg shot smashed from the crossbar.
Galaxy’s Gabriel Peck was stopped by Baraga in the 75th minute.
Exactly two minutes later, DC United abolished the shutout as Joao Peglo flipped a pass in front of Pirani, which only needed to defeat Mikovich. He easily did this with a right-foot shot in the right corner of the net.
DC United almost stopped the score in the 84th minute, but Aaron Herrera’s head went right near the net.
