Frost earnings charged on stunning OT win, level pwhl final

Brita Curl-Salem scored with 16 seconds in regulation to force overtime, then prolonged the winner in an additional session on 16:24 as Minnesota Frost on Thursday carried the host Ottawa charge 2–1, even in the PWHL finals with a win.

Jokelli Larok of Ottawa opened the scoring at 17:25 of the third period, but the charge was not on him.

For game 3 on Saturday, St. Paul, Best-Five Series for Minan and Game 4 on Monday.

In the closing stages of the regulation, Minnesota pulled the goalkeeper Maddy Runi, then found a power play when Terreza Vanesova of Ottawa was punished for tripping at 19:23.

From an aggressive-zone faceoff, Frost’s Claire Thompson fired a bullet from the right point, and the Brita Curl-Salem knocked into the rebound.

In overtime, Minnesota’s Melissa Channel-Vatkins took Pak into an aggressive area and took a shot that was well blocked from the net. Curl-Salem collected puck between the circles and gave a shot that was found through the charge goalkeeper Gwneth Philips.

Roney ended with 37 saves, while Philips stopped 22 shots.

The charge won the series opener 2–1 in overtime on Tuesday.
