The future of IPL 2025 remains in uncertainty amid increased tension between India and Pakistan. Midway was called on Thursday due to security concerns at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamasala between Punjab Kings and Delhi capitals. This happened when Pakistani missiles were intercepted in Jammu, which is 200 km from Dharamasala. As a result, the floodlights at the match site were closed and the gathering crowd was evacuated. The BCCI also had to make special arrangements for PBKS and DC players to transfer PBK and DC players with a broadcast crew out of the piles.

The next day, which was Friday, suspended the IPL 2025 season for a week. According to several reports, a decision will be taken on its future after analyzing the ongoing situation.

Next to what can be decided from IPL 2025, the tournament has given a major blow as foreign players are reportedly going back to their homes, a report in the Indian Express. It was also claimed that the BCCI has directed all 10 IPL franchises to inform their players and supporting employees to be ready to resume in a week.

In particular, this is not the first version of the IPL that has been suspended to the mid-season. Back in 2021, the program was posted amid an outbreak of Kovid -19. There was a suspension between players and employees in India after several bio-bulbous violations and rising Kovid cases. About four months later, the season resumed in the United Arab Emirates and was completed.

IPL 2025 is not the only event that has been suspended during increased tension between India and Pakistan. In fact, Pakistan Super League 2025 was also postponed and then transferred to the UAE. However, its remaining matches have not yet been shared by the board, underlining the schedule, dates and places.
