For the first time after retirement, Virat Kohli resumes practice with RCB. Watch

Star batter Virat Kohli on Saturday attended a net practice session before Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The match will mark the resumption of IPL 2025, which was suspended by the middle route due to border tension between India and Pakistan. In addition, this practice was Kohli’s first on-field appearance after declaring his retirement from Test cricket. The 36 -year -old batsman called Time on his Test career after playing 123 matches and scored 9,230 runs.
RCB shared a video of Kohli on its official X account, in which the star player was seen playing some great drive, bridge and sweep shot.

RCB has been red-hot in the ongoing season with eight wins in 11 matches. On the other hand, KKR is on the verge of elimination as the defending champion won five out of only 12 matches.
IPL 2025 has been a great for Kohli. In 11 matches, the right-handed batsman has scored 505 runs and is currently the fourth largest run-scorer of the season.
So far, he has visited seven half-century in the ongoing season and has recently come the most against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings.
Earlier on Monday, Kohli broke all fans after Kohli declared his retirement from Test cricket. The call also came as a big shocker, before India captain Rohit Sharma also hanged his shoes from the longest format.
In the frame, someone in the frame with Rohit and Kohli, it would be a difficult time for the selectors to choose a team for the upcoming five-match testing series between India and England, which will kick-start from June 20.
With Rohit’s departure, captain’s seat is also vacant with Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah, who are the top contenders for the situation.
The test series against England will be an important for India as it will launch their World Testing Championship 2025-27 cycle. Kohli and Rohit’s retirement is also likely to open the gate for new players in the Indian Test team.
