Florida Panthers dominate Olers, get closer to Stanley Cup repeat
Florida Panthers is a win from claiming the Stanley Cup for the second consecutive year.
They deserve to live in that situation. The panthers showed why during the masterclass performance in 5–2 road win over Admonton Oilrs on Saturday.
Florida can close the chain at home on Tuesday when the puck falls for 6 – which means the opportunity to re -hoist the cup on the snow of the house – showed what they are knowing who they are and what it takes to be a champion.
As seen as NHL bulls, he does not credits his talent enough to the label. Certainly, panthers have no qualifications about playing smash-mouthed hockey, targeted their opponents with a jab here, there a facewash and tireless physical game. Some teams run under that attack – especially in the final of the conference, Carolina Storm. Oilers have tried to match it, but whatever has been achieved is making them away from their game.
But this does not override the fact that defending champion panthers are a good hockey club, deep in talent and larger over execution.
Want to commit crime? The panthers have taken the entire Stanley Cup final as they have all the playoffs. They have excluded high-octane olers of 24–16 through the series, and this is not the only proof of their dominance.
Florida has lit a lamp at least twice in the first period of all five outings-Opening frames out of the count of 11–4-and led more than 200 minutes, while Edmonton proceeded for only 34 minutes.
Want defense? Proud of the best goals in the playoffs, panthers are also the best defensive clubs, against 4.05 goals and 2.50 goals per game. (Edmonton is against 3.86 goals and against 3.24 goals.)
And he only tells part of the story. In Game 5, Edmonton was held only three first-period shots, 11 first through two periods and 21 in the entire game. After all those offerings in the final frame, Brad Marchand’s Highlight-Reel Tally gave visitors a five-minute lead in this period with a 3–0 lead.
For their credits, the olers are the final return club in this spring, and it would not be surprising if they manage the series to push the series to a decisive game 7 on their snow. But they must be interrogating themselves, and goes beyond who should win, which should be for victory.
Somehow, Edmonton will have to find a way to pursue them in a game.
Somehow, oileers should commit crimes beyond normal suspects and Corey Perry. The list of non-contacts of Edmonton in this series is long, probably with their worst criminals with Evende Cane, Trent Frederick, Adam Heinrich and Connor Brown.
Somehow, they must stop the attack of Florida – especially Marchand and Sam Bennett – which displayed their depth throughout the playoffs.
Somehow, olers must find a way to achieve the upper hand. Even though Edmonton defeated the panthers twice with a thrilling return win, it is difficult to imagine that they can do it twice more.
Panthers are very good for falling into that trap again and removes another championship.
