Flag Football Championship returns to Canton next month

Around 300 teams representing all 32 NFL clubs will compete in the second annual flag football championship next month at Canton, Ohio.

The League announced details for the NFL Flag Championship from July 17-20 on Thursday, with 3,000 boys and girls participating in 12 divisions.

“We are thrilled to bring the NFL flag championship presented by Toyota in the second consecutive year in the second consecutive year,” said NFL Quok, NFL vice -president and head of Flag Flag Football. “The championship is a strong performance for the development of flag football at the grassroots level world and worldwide. The flag is inclusive and accessible to all, and we are excited to see the competition in all age groups in the 2025 NFL Flag Championships.”

Flag football continues to increase popularity before 2028 Summer Olympics, where it will begin as an official sport in Los Angeles. NFL announced last month that its players would be allowed to compete.

In the July incident, eight international teams are participating, traveling from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

ESPN will perform 15 games from girls’ high school division, 15 from boys under -14 divisions and three from international tournaments.

“NFL Flag Championships are quickly becoming the final summer performance for one of the world’s fastest growing sports,” said Julie Sobissi, senior vice president of ESPN of League programming and acquisitions. “For the second consecutive year, our presentation and expansion will compete with the extraordinary talent of young boys and girls, while the inclusive, sharp and accessible nature of flag football will also celebrate. The tournament of this year will not only create the tremendous success of the inauguration incident, but also adds the spontaneous pace of sports.”
