FC Cincinnati tries to keep DC united

FC Cincinnati will try to fix a sudden dripping rescue on Saturday night when they host a DC United Side that struggles to score without top striker Christian Bentke.
Manager Pat Nunnan’s Cincinnati (9-4-3, 30 points) has allowed seven goals in its last two matches, after a 4–2 defeat in Atlanta United last Sunday, after a 3-3 dowry draw for FC Dallas, which was painted Luciano Acosta, former Cincinnati captain and 2023 MLS MVP.
In the latter, Cincinnati laid the leads of 2–0 and 3–2 and wasted the ninth goal of Kevin Denki’s team-Agni season.
“It was a story of two parts. We were excellent in the first half, and we were shameful in the second half,” Noonan said. “So it falls on me, because there were people who did not know how to lead two goals and manage the speed that we were coming out of the break.”
Suddenly the defensive generosity comes after a stretch where Nunnan’s group scored several goals only once in nine matches.
And they can still imagine their opportunities to return to methods against DC United (3-7-6, 15 digits) that has generated very little in the attack since the Bentke was lost for a short-term ankle injury to a short-term ankle injury.
Black-end-red required an extraordinary long distance strike from Gabriel Pirani to earn a domestic draw against the New England Revolution on Wednesday night.
“Gabby performs special plays,” said DC manager Troy Lesseen. “And I was really happy to make him one in that situation and to close my goal campaign in 2025-it is really important for him. But, you know, we needed that moment. Because I think everyone recognizes it that it can be a match where it ends 1-0 and it is a different interaction.”
The first goal of Pirani of the season gave a bad stretch of 495 minutes without scoring in MLS Play.
Bentke, who has six goals this season-fell on the last 340 out of those minutes after drawing 0–0 with New York City FC on May 14. It is not clear whether they will be approved to return on Saturday.
