A fan participating in Wednesday’s game between Chicago cub and Pittsburgh Pirates was out of the correct area during the seventh innings and the PNC park landed 21 feet down on the warning track.

The game was delayed by 10 minutes, while the trainers of paramedics and teams took the fan to a backboard and dropped him out of the field.

Many cubs on the field delayed taking knees and offered prayers for an unknown fan, who grabbed the railing in front of him with two hands, came out of bleachers and hit the ground with his upper body, while Pittsburg’s Andrew McCchen was in the seventh double game.

The Pirates made a statement soon after the domestic team won 4-3 over the cubs.

“Tonight, during the seventh innings of the game at PNC Park, an adult male fell from the right field bleachers on the playground.

“Pittsburgh EMS, as well as pirates and cub athletic training teams and other PNC park personnel reacted and immediately responded and took care. They were rushed to Elegheni General Hospital. No more information is available at the moment.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
