FAF du Plessis pinpoints actually went wrong for Delhi’s capitals in IPL 2025: “Lack of …”

Delhi Capital (DC) captain FAF Do Plessis admitted that the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a high note was satisfactory while completing the 2025 season, the team’s overall campaign lacked the required continuity to break into the top four. DC wrapped his season with a six -wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBK), with seven wins, six necklaces and one result. Speaking after the match, Du Plessis provided an honest evaluation of the team’s performance.

“It is important to finish on a high. The fifth is a proper reflection of our season, but we need to be more consistent to be in the top-four,” he said, as is quoted from ESPNCRICINFO.

DC started his campaign strongly, winning four wins in the season. However, his speed fell to the midway, and he failed to maintain his appearance in important matches.

“One of the great mysteries. Combination of confidence, lack of form and basic things,” Du Plessis commented.

The South African veteran exposed the fine margin who often decides matches in the tournament contesting a tightly election like the IPL.

“When you are playing well, small margins go with you. Every once, both batting and bowling were in five-six on the windows, where we let it slip,” he said.

Sameer Rizvi defeated Punjab Kings in 19.3 overs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, chasing the challenging target of 207, scoring 58 runs off just 25 balls, scoring an unbeaten 58 runs.
