Eight teams still have controversy in a place race in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are already out of the top four races. As things stand, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are in a position of pole to qualify for the playoffs, already scored 16 points in 11 matches. He follows Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) closely with each on 14 points, playing 11 and 10 matches respectively. (IPL 2025 points table)
Punjab Kings (PBK) are currently occupying the fourth and final playoff spots. He has 13 points out of 10 matches so far.
Let’s take a look at the qualification scenarios of the remaining teams:
1. Royal Challengers Bangalore
The location of RCB in the playoffs is all confirmed. They are currently at 16 points and only need to win from the remaining three matches so that they can confirm their location. However, if RCB wins all its remaining games, they are guaranteed to finish in the top two places.
2. Mumbai Indians
The five -time champion needs to win at least two of their remaining two matches to confirm his location. They have a high chance of finishing Mi in the top two if they win their remaining matches and other results also go in their own way.
3. Gujarat Titans
For GT, the equation is more simple than Mi. He needs two of his remaining four matches to enter the playoffs. And, if they win all of them, then a top two finish is certainty.
4. Punjab kings
With six wins and a washout after nine matches, PBK needs to win at least two of their remaining matches to confirm a place in the playoffs. They also have a strong chance to finish in the top two, but for this they have to depend on other results.
5. Delhi capitals
Recently, a dip has lost three of their last five matches to DC. Currently, they are at 12 points after 10 matches and need to win three out of four matches to enter the playoffs.
6. Lucknow Super Giants
LSG currently seated sixth position with 10 points after 10 matches. He needs to win three out of four matches to survive in the playoff race.
7. Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR currently ranks seventh in the points table with nine points out of 10 matches. They need to win at least three games and hope to go on their way.
8. Sunrisers Hyderabad
Like KKR, SRH has an external chance to make it in the playoffs. However, they can still not make it in the playoffs, even if they win all their remaining matches.
