England’s passion is afraid of injury before 1 India Test

A few days before the IND vs Eng 1st Test, Josh tongue was forced to remove the mid-way through India.

There seems to be no end for England cricket team’s injury woes as yet another pacer may have been injured. Five frontline bowlers are already battling injuries and are unlikely to be a part of the five-match Test series against India. The series will commence on June 20, with Headingley, Leeds all set to host the 1st Test.

IND vs ENG: Tongue injured?

Josh Tongue was forced to walk off the field after bowling just four overs during the India A vs England Lions 2nd unofficial Test. The incident occurred in the 2nd innings of the game where the fast bowler had to hobble off the field after bowling just 4 overs and conceding 27 runs. As per ESPNCricinfo, the extent of Tongue’s injury is yet to be determined.

It is pertinent to point out that Tongue is a part of the England’s main squad for the upcoming series against India.

England’s injury woes

England’s leading pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out of action for 4 months due to a knee ligament damage. Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the IND vs ENG 1st Test after suffering a hamstring strain.

While Olly Stone sustained a knee injury during the pre-season, Jofra Archer is set to miss the 1st Test as he his nursing a thumb injury. Meanwhile, Jamie Overton sustained a broken finger during the series against West Indies.

Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse and Ben Stokes are the only pacers who are currently fit for the 1st Test against India. It remains to be seen if Tongue will be fully fit in time for the game.
