England Mahan urged BCCI to appoint Virat Kohli as India’s Test captain

The time is going on for the selectors as they need to choose a team for the upcoming five -match Test series against England. The series, which will kick-start in June, has already given a lot of headache to the selection committee as India captain Rohit Sharma announced retirement from tests. Subsequently, several reports suggest that star batter Virat Kohli is also looking to hang his shoes in the longest format. Amidst all the selection chaos, former England captain Michael Vaughan gave a bold suggestion for Indian management.
With Rohit’s sudden departure, the Indian team is looking for a new leader. Taking X (East Twitter), Vauan wrote that if he had power, he would have appointed Kohli as the captain of India for the testing of England.

India captain Rohit decided to terminate his test career, Espncricinfo reported that Kohli told BCCI about his intention to retire from the format. For a five-observer series very soon to visit England with India, the BCCI has allegedly urged the player to reconsider his decision. However, the player is yet to communicate his final decision to the board.
Earlier on Sunday, former India batsman Mohammad Kaif also urged Kohli to reconsider his decision, as his testing was large according to the retirement loom report.
“Virat Kohli, the Babbar lion of India wants to rest. He is thinking about retirement. I think he should go to England, prove his talk and finish his career on a high note. Kaka’s Kaka Kaka should end his career on a good note in T20 World Cup. Is he thinking about bowling.
If Virat is actually retired, it will mark the end of the 14 -year magnificent test career, during which he scored 9,230 runs in 123 tests, with average 46.85, with 30 centuries.
He is also the most successful Test captain in India, who has won 40 out of 68 Tests with Armband.
