Elis Martens fights 11 match points to reach Dutch final

Alice Martens of Belgium saved 11 match points in a win on top seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in the semi-finals of Libima Open at ‘S-Hartogenbosh, Netherlands’ S-Hartogenbosh, Netherlands.
According to the WTA Tour, this most match points survived the match of a main draw women in this decade.
After leaving the first set 6–2, the third seeded merrytte followed 5–4 to reach the verge of defeat in the second set.
29 -year -old Martens scored five match points to break Russian service in the 10th game, then saved five more for another break in the 12th game, forcing the Tybreak. Alexandrova again served for the match at 6-5 but Martens ran away for the 11th time.
“I didn’t even know that it was 11, after one or two I lost the count,” said Martens.

Martens won 9–7 in Tiebreak and completed 2–6, 7-6 (7), 6–4 win within just three hours. She will face Romanian Elena-Gabrela Russia in Sunday’s Grass-Cort final.
