As Babar Azam’s flop show with BAT, former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas has suggested that Star Batter should seek help from senior players. Talking about Babur’s poor form, Zaheer said that either the batsman has an ego issue or he is very embarrassed to seek advice from his seniors. Babur continues to labor for runs after his dry magic in international cricket. Since his 151 -run Blitzcrayg against Nepal in August 2023, Babur has not yet has a centenary for Pakistan. The lack of their shortage during the Pakistan Super League is also clear. The right -handed batsman, who is leading Peshawar Zalmi in PSL, has so far scored 0 and 1 runs in two innings in the season.
“I feel that either Babur has an ego issue or is very shy to consult his superiors in overcoming his current situation,” Zaheer told Cricket to Pakistan.
Zaheer also went to share an incident from the past. He claimed that former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin had once approached him for help in batting.
“I clearly remember how former Indian batsman Azharuddin sought me guidance on a tour of India in 1989-90. He was struggling to find runs and I asked him to change his batting grip. This helped him really gain confidence and improve his performance.”
Focusing on Babur’s technology, the former Pakistan captain saw, “I saw Babur’s late dismissal going to his shots quickly, which clearly shows that he is not getting time to adjust to the crease.”
Meanwhile, Rashid Latif, whoever is also the former captain of Pakistan, said that Babur is unable to come back due to lack of “proper patrons or batting coaches” in the team.
“When you are under pressure, you need to find a way to get out of the situation, but Babur has been unable to maneuver in his own way. Unfortunately, there is no proper mentor or batting coach in the dressing room.
