East-RR cum-owner back in news, to highlight the team’s promoter on financial misconduct

Due to the betting scam in 2013, Rajasthan Royals were one of the two teams that were banned from IPL.
Former Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra is in the news once again, after he took to social media, with an announcement of impending revelations against a key figure in the IPL. He threatened, releasing evidence of financial malpractice and irregular transactions about the person in question.
RR and IPL in Trouble?
In the post, he clarified, that all the detailed will be out during a press conference on June 2, while the venue details are still not decided. He also added that the documents will be enough to prove his point. “I will soon be releasing documented evidence exposing serious financial misconduct, money laundering through offshore structures and hidden transactions involving a key promoter of the Rajasthan Royals.
Raj Kundra Threatens to Reveal All
“This includes willful suppression of co-promoter rights and entitlements, pattern of deceit and manipulation in shareholder dealings. The truth will be shared soon, and the documents will speak for themselves,” Kundra wrote in his post. For the unversed, Raj Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty had an 11.7% stake in the RR till about 2015.. In fact, he was banned from cricket-related activities in 2013, due to the IPL betting scandal.
As far as RR’s IPL 2025 season is concerned, the team finished a poor 9th out of 10 teams. They could only win 4 matches in 14 played, with perennial injuries to key players throughout the season. But that said, there were a few highlights for them, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi being a big plus for them.
