“Don’t take any goods from …”: KL Rahul gets an honest message from Cheteshwar Pujara after DC’s victory vs. LSG

Cheteshwar Pujara feels that KL Rahul has moved beyond a disappointing last season among Lucknow super veterans and the change in Mindset was not only helping him to flourish in his new IPL franchise, but will also make him a strong property for the Indian team. Rahul on Tuesday hit his third fifty of the season to take his Meo Team Delhi Capital for a win of eight wickets against his former franchise LSG in Lucknow. Pujara said on Espncricinfo’s timeout, “Just go ahead, do not take any goods from the past. And this is a good thing. KL is a mature player. Over the years, he has been batting well in formats.”
“He does not want to think about the past and wants to enjoy his batting and be in his territory, rather than what went wrong when he was playing for the LSG team.
“It is good to move forward, which will help him play well for DC and even for the Indian team. Because, recently, it is someone who also depends on the India team, the way he is batting.” Under Rahul’s captaincy, LSG reached the play-off in 2022 and 2023 seasons. However, the Lucknow organization finished seventh in the last season.
Rahul’s relationship with LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka also deteriorated last year. In a video that went viral on social media, Goenka was seen publicly reprimanding the former Lucknow captain after defeat.
A few months later, the 33 -year -old was released by the franchise in front of the mega auction.
In DC, one of the most consistent players in the IPL, wicketkeeper Batter, has emerged as the leading run scorer this season, scoring 323 runs in seven innings.
“Even as a person, he now looks much more mature, he understands his game very well. We have seen a separate KL Rahul in this season. When he started (against LSG), he (fluid) has not seen, but still picked it up,” Pujara said.
Former England opener Nick Knight said that the absence of captaincy responsibilities can also contribute to Rahul’s freedom with the bat.
“Capines can do fun things for you -sometimes you thrive on it, sometimes it is a burden. Whether it is an influence, now when not a captain, just being free and being able to play the match situation,” Knight said.
“We have got the passion in cricket that the best player is to be the captain. It is not always the case, it is? I am not saying that KL Rahul, or even Rishabh Pant is the same, but he is batting with so much freedom and rests in the crease.”
