According to several media reports including those by news agencies PTI, ANI and IANS, IPL 2025 has been suspended. The major decision was taken after the tension on the border between India and Pakistan. After alert alert in neighboring cities of Jammu and Pathakot, a cloud of uncertainty had troubled the future of the ongoing edition since the cancellation of Thursday’s match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital in Dharmasala Midway.
A BCCI official told PTI, “It’s not good that the cricket is going on in war,” a BCCI official told PTI, which confirms the suspension of the High-Profile League, which was to air in Kolkata on May 25, according to the original program.
The development falls on the heels of the unfortunate incident on Thursday night at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, where the high anticipated match between PBK and DC was closed. The audience was informed about the cancellation and asked to vacate the campus, while the two teams were taken back to their hotel.
Soon after, Punjab Kings confirmed development through their official social media handle, posting, “the match has been closed.”
Meanwhile, during the night of intervention of May 8 and May 9, the Indian Army successfully responded to several attacks by Pakistan along the Western border and several Line of Control (LOC) along with the Western border.
The Indian Army said, “Pakistan’s armed forces launched several attacks using drones and other sages along the entire western border on the night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak soldiers also resorted to many war violations (CFVs), as well as the lines of control in Jammu and Kashmir.
