The 3,000 countdown will be at the forefront when Los Angeles Dojers left hand Clayton Karshaw visited Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night.
Three -time National League Cyg Award Award winner and 2014 NL Most Valuable Player Major League has three strikes from becoming the 20th pitcher in the history of Major League, which is to reach 3,000 in his career and only the fourth left -handed batsman. Other: Steve Carlton, Randy Johnson and CC Sabathia.
Karesh is also ready to become a third pitcher to kill 3,000 batsmen while joining Walter Johnson (Washington Senator) and Bob Gibson (Washington Senator) and Bob Gibson (St. Louis Cardinals).
“The opportunity (will) to strike three at home would be really good,” said Karesh, whose house achievements included his first strike in 2008 when he set Skip Shumikar of Cardinals.
Kreshaw (4–0, 3.03 Era) has won in each of its last four beginnings, allowing a run on two hits in six innings on Thursday in a 3–1 win in Colorado as he reached close to his milestone with five strikes.
Dosters’ manager Dave Roberts said, “It is going to be fun, exciting for him to be able to do so in the white color of the house.”
This will only the sixth career of Karshava against White Sox. The 37-year-old is 2–1 against Chicago, with 2.90 ERA.
Los Angeles won 6–1 in Tuesday’s series opener, when Shohi Ohtani hit his 30th domestic run of the season, while Andy Page and Michael Conforto scored two runs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed a run in seven innings.
Ohtani now has at least 30 domestic runs in five consecutive sessions.
White Socks received two hits from Lenin Sosa on Tuesday and his alone RBI. Chicago is the worst hitting team in baseball with a .220 batting average and is at the bottom third of the major league with 736 strikeouts after adding 12 on Tuesday.
Now they are ready to be a part of the historic night of Karash.
“The very nice pitcher is clearly (and) still performing well,” White Sax Manager Will Veneble said about Karshava.
Both were team companions on doors for a short time in 2016.
“Probably going to be able to spin the ball for the rest of his life,” said Veneble. “Just a contestant who presents a lot of problems for hits on both sides. We will have our work cut.”
Chicago is set to send the mound to the left-handed brandon ist (2–1, 4.33 ERA) in a potential opener role. He has made 36 appearances (two starts) and has thrown 35 1/3 innings with 41 strikes. Still classified as a crook, he appeared in three matches for Toronto Blue Jais in 2024. He never faced doseers.
White Sox Infielder Miguel Vargas, who was traded as part of a three-tim deal from the dosers in the previous season, which was landed to Tommy Edman and Michael Copek in Los Angeles, received their world series before the game on Tuesday. After going for 0 -for -4 in the Vargas series opener, he is on 1 -for -25 slide with 10 strikes in his last seven matches.
Chicago Ruki Chase Medroth, who grew up in the nearby Manhattan Beach, went to his first career game at Doder Stadium 0-for-4.
