Did UAE close the door on PSL X and PCB? The latest report claims

The PCB had decided to take PSL X out of Pakistan, with only eight matches left in the season.

As the military tensions between India and Pakistan grow, the PCB decided to hots the remainder of PSL in the UAE. But the hopes of that happening have suffered a huge dent. THE Emirates Cricket Board, it seems, is wary of the repercussions of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, and don’t want to take any chances.

No PSL X in UAE?

The PCB had earlier stated, that the remaining PSL X matches in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore happen in UAE. But as per a report in PTI, a source revealed that the ECB isn’t granting PCB the permission. “The UAE has a diverse South Asian population which enjoys cricket. Hosting a tournament like the PSL in the midst of such tense circumstances could vitiate harmony, pose security risks and stir unnecessary friction between communities,” the source said.

No Confirmation As Yet

It is important to note, that not only ECB has hosted tournaments for India, but is a preferred destination for the BCCI, apart from home destinations. Having said that, the official confirmation about the same is yet to come. On the other hand, the BCCI has also suspended the IPL 2025 for a week.

The decision came after the PBKS vs DC match in Dharamsala was abruptly stopped, due to security reasons. Now, it remains to be seen, when does the tournament restart, and if at all, it takes place in India. For now, the safety of the players and staff involved is of paramount importance, and the players are being sent home already.
