Two Defenseman-Aron Ekblads and Seth Jones-Longs tied late in the third period and scored further goals as hosts Florida Panthers ralled 4–2 over Tampa Belighting on Monday night at Sunrise, Fla.
The Panthers-The Rigining Stanley Cup Champion-series 3–1 lead. Game 5 is set for Wednesday night at Tampa Bay.
Monday’s game is so far in this series won by the domestic team.
Florida appeared to tie the score 2 with 12:58 in the third period on a target by Ekblad. But the target was erased due to offsides.
But with 3:47, Ekblad tied the score on a rebound, and Jones found a game-winner on a carom after 11 seconds.
Michelle Chafi and Eric Burk also scored 11 seconds for Tampa Bay in the second period, and Andrei Wasilavski saved 19 for electricity.
Anton Lundel and Carter Verheghe (empty Netter) also scored for panthers, who received 18 saves from Sergei Boberski.
The game was highly physical, including a high hit of Ekblad on Brandon Hagel. In addition, Nico Miccola of Florida was excluded to ride on the Zemgus Girgensons.
Florida opened scoring with 10:54 in the second period. The play began when Florida dumped the Pak and the panthers first brought Brad Marchand there. Marchand attracted four lightening defenders to Lundel to dish, who defeated Vasilavski in the slot alone to his stick.
With 8:34 in the second period, Ekblad got away with a right forever on Hagel’s face, who had been playing his first game since the suspension of a competition for his hit on Alexander Barkov.
On anblad hit, Hagel fell backwards and hit his head on ice.
Hagel went straight to the locker room, and his companions responded with two goals in 11 seconds.
Tampa Bay left the score with 7:39 on 1, left on a rebound shot by Chafi in the second. On the rebound, Bobarovsky lost the sight of the moment, which slipped under his left pad.
After the goal, Lightning won the faceoffs, and Cernak shut down the correct post. A screen of Nikita Kucharov may have disrupted Bobarovsky’s The Vision of the Pak.
Florida left the score in the third with 3:47 at 2. Sam Renhart took a long shot to start the drama. Ekblad, left alone in front, ripped the rebound under Vasilavski’s glove.
Jones’s goal gave Florida a 3–2 lead, and Verhaighe scored in an empty net with 1:40.
