DC vs RCB: Krunal Pandya excluded homeboy Virat Kohli, Power RCB to Top to IPL 2025 points table

An ideal chase by Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli conducted Royal Challengers Bangalore for six wins in six matches. RCB chased a target of 163 runs in 18.3 overs against Delhi Capital to top the table of IPL 2025 points with 14 points out of 10 matches. RCB is now just one win from qualifying for IPL 2025 playoffs.

Krunal Pandya, who took wickets for 28 runs, remained unbeaten on 73 off 47 balls. Virat Kohli finished 51 off 47 balls, but Tim David closed RCB with 5 balls 19-ball 19 with 5 balls to win his sixth win over Trott with a 6-win win in Delhi.

Kohli-Krunal’s perfect chase

Two weeks ago, KL Rahul made a statement when he scored an unbeaten 93 in Bangalore chasing 163. He pulled a “It’s My Home” festival. Virat Kohli also had a chance. However, Exer Patel (2/19) did not want to give him a chance to Kohli or RCB, as he hit twice in Powerplay, removed the debutant Jacob Bethel for 12 and removed the Devdutt Padikkal for a duck.

But Krunal Pandya had other views. He looked at the house boy with a right knock on a dull pitch. After scoring 25 runs off 27 balls by the 12th over, Krunal asked Onas as an inquiry. Krunal hit one four and one six until then. But against Mukeh Kumar, he turned on the Beats Mode, hitting Pesar for two sixes in the 13th over. In the next over, he instigated Kuldeep Yadav for one six as he brought only his second IPL fifty. This was his first fifty in nine years. The last also came against DC in IPL 2016.

Virat Kohli, the Orange Cap holder of IPL 2025, was in his element. Chamaster, who scored more than 3800 runs in the IPL, put his innings completely on a dull Kotla pitch. He gave fifty runs off 45 balls to his 61st IPL. It was slow and had 10 dot balls. But he kept rotating the strike, giving DC’s speed battery or spin trio.

While he could not finish the game, departing for 47-gent 51 against enemy Chanera, he put his team in a commanding position as RCB needed only 18 runs off 13 balls. Tim David ends things

A pitch opposite Arun Jaitley Stadium

Arun Jaitley Stadium usually offers pitches which are excellent for batting. The site is known for high scoring matches with small borders and a flat deck. This was the average score at the site in the 209 last season, it explains how good it was. However, on Sunday, it was contrary to the offering of Arun Jaitley Stadium in the past. It was hardly slow for the batsmen with any help.

  • Average score in IPL 2024: 209
  • Average first innings score in IPL 2024: 218

Powerplay was the only scoring opportunity for batsmen and Delhi corrected that part. Even though FAF du Plessis, when returned from injury, struggled with 26-gent 22, Abhishek Porl was in a smashing mood. He scored 11-ball 28 runs with DC Posting 52/2 in Powerplay.

Then, it became a struggle. KL Rahul tried to capture things with a laborious knock of 41 runs off 39 balls, but failed to turn it into half a century after falling into Bhuvneshwar Kumar. DC can score only 120 runs by the end of the 17th over.

DC vs RCB bowling

  • Over 1-6: 52/2 (RR: 8.66)
  • Over 7-15: 56/2 (RR: 6.22)
  • Over 16-20: 54/4 (RR: 10.8)

Triston Stabs, however, did not mind the pitch. He was in his destructive best. To bat at number 6 in the 14th over, he attacked the Bengaluru bowlers. First, it was Josh Hazelwood which he broke for two borders in the 18th over. Then, Yash Dayal went to two borders and a six in the 19th over. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar hit twice in the last over, Stabs had already scored 34 runs for 18 runs, in which Delhi’s capitals were taken before the 150 -run mark.

DC can score 50 runs against spinners in only 8 overs, even if he has given just one wicket. Against pacers, he lost 6 wickets but scored 111 runs at a run rate of 9.25.
