DC United attended on Thursday with Head Coach Troy Lesne after less than two sessions.

Lesne compiled a record of 18-26–17 in all competitions since the 2024 season changed Wayne Runi.

DC United missed the MLS Cup playoffs last season and currently sat down 12th with 4–10–7 records (19 points) at the Eastern Conference, which is nine points below the playoff cutoff line.

The team also rejected Assistant Coach Zach Prince and nominated the Academy Director Kevin Flangan as an interim head coach.

“We want to thank Troy for his dedication in the last two sessions,” said Eli McKay, General Manager and Chief Football Officer of DC United. “After internal discussion, we have decided to participate with Troy and go in a different direction as a club.

“Our discovery for a new head coach will immediately begin with focus on identifying a leader that aligns with the identity and long -term vision of our club. This is an important moment for DC United, and we are committed to making the right decisions for our team’s future.”

Lesne, 41, served as an interim coach for the first 2023 New York Red Bulls.
