DC United ‘Optimistic’ Christian Bentke Returns vs Rapids

DC United hopes when they host colorado rapids on Saturday night, MLS Golden Boot winner Christian Bentake’s return to return.

This is a matchup of teams going in opposite directions. While DC United (2-5-3, 9 points) has lost five of its last six matches, Colorado (4-2-4, 16 points) has lost only one of its last five.

Dynamic Bentke, who missed losing 3–0 with a quadriseps strain in the Philadelphia Union last week, has a chance to reverse the trend. Belgium forward leads DC with five goals after scoring an MLS-Haai 23 a year ago.

“We are optimistic about the weekend,” DC coach Troy Lesseen said about the availability of 34 -year -old. “He was close to the previous weekend. If we had another day of training, he would have been able to travel with us.”

However, it is unlikely to return, Joao Peglo (Hamstring Strain), who scored two sensational goals in the loan DC win in their last six matches-2–1 in New York Red Bulls on April 19. Peglo was hurt in the leading training session in the Philadelphia match.

While DC has a lot of shelling, it has scored 22 goals, which is tied with Chicago Fire for the most permission by a team in MLS this year.

“We have to make plays we are making,” Lesseen said. “We must capitalize and eliminate plays at the defensive end.”

Colorado comes 1–1 after his second direct draw against Seattle Soundlers on 26 April. Djordje Mihailovic scored to make a tie in the 54th minute.

Milhelovic (five goals, three aids) and Rafael Navaro (five goals) are the top threats of Colorado. The pair assisted to take Rapids in their first playoff presence since 2021 for 26 goals and 16 last year.

Another story is, former homegron player Ted Ku-dipiatro has a return to the country’s capital, which scored two goals and four assistance in the previous season. The 23-year-old Ku-Diapiatro was acquired by Colorado in February.

Colorado coach Chris Armas said, “I am on fire, but I am not sure it is about DC United.” “I think it’s just about establishing a little itself, receiving respect from people.”
