The Dasun Shanaka makes a comeback to the Sri Lanka T20I squad with Dunith Vellage for the SL vs Ban T20I series. Sri Lanka has named a strong 17-man squad for the three-match series. Chamika Karunaratne also makes a comeback while Eshan makes his first T20I call to Malinga.
Trio return, Ashan Malinga rewarded for IPL, SA20 show
Sri Lanka has announced a 17-firm squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The series is important for the preparation of islands for the series 2026 T20 World Cup. Former captain Dasun Shanaka Chamika returns to the set up with Karunratne. Karunaratne postponed the pace attack with Ashan Malinga, already included Matheesha Pathirana, Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thaushara and Binura Fernando.
Malinga was handed over his first call to Malinga after affecting the T20 leagues worldwide. It is part of the Sunrisers franchise, which features IPL and SA20. The bowling exploits of his death have caught the eye and may be a powerful companion for Mathesh Pathirana.
Danith also returns to Vellage, playing a big role in SL vs Ban Odis running with spin. With the possibility of surfaces to replace, Actors can well expose a quartet of Kamindu Mendis, Vanindu Hasarga, Mahesh Thekshana and Dunith Vellege.
The T20i series closes in Pallekele on 10 July. This action goes to Dambullah before the final T20 in Colombo on 16 July.
