D-Back in search of traction against dowstroden Rockies

Erizona Diamondback will find his first view in New-look Colorado Rockies later this week, although Rockies looks like his old herself as owner Dick Monfort on Sunday fired manager Bud Black.
Due to the return of Katel Marte, Diamondback won three out of five matches, while the 16-game in-16-day against the playoff contenders have won 8-8 to 8-8 against the playoff contenders. They break up from that guntlet for a three-game series against Rockies starting on Friday in Phoenix.
Colorado, meanwhile, was swept away in a three-game chain in Texas which ended under the interim manager Warren Shefer on Wednesday, promoted on Sunday.
Right-handed Corbin Burns (2–1, 2.95 ERA) are scheduled for D-Back. Rockies has not announced the starter.
Mart on Wednesday made two homes in a winning 8-7 win against giants in a decisive game of the three-room series. In the seventh innings, he was removed for a pinch of hitter due to the hardness of the hip, but D-Back does not consider it serious.
“It is great for us to take a day off after 16 games in a row,” Erizona Shortstop Geraldo Pardomo said. “I think we have played civilized. But we are going to find a way to go back to win more games.”
Marte has all its five homeers from May 8, not after returning to the active roster after a month on the injured list with a grade 1 right hamstring strain.
D-Back made two roster adjustments on Monday, promoting Infielder and Top Prospect Infielder Jordan Lallin, while right-arm Kendall Gravman was also added.
In 2021, the first round of D-Back was hitting the .336/.413/.579 in 37 matches in Triple-A Reno with 15 doubles, six homes and 31 RBI. The plan is to give him three to four, which starts on Infield and DH in a week.
Arizona General Manager Mike Hazen said, “At some point we also need to put 26 best players in our team in our team.”
Gravman, since spring training with low back tension after the disappearance of 2024 due to the right shoulder surgery, adds experienced depths to a bulge that has been without nominal closure AJ Puck and Justin Martinez for two weeks. D-Back’s Bulpen had 5.19 ERAs entering Thursday’s off-day, better than Washington National and Los Angeles Angels.
Rockies was placed on par for the worst beginning in the history of the Major League at 6-33 before winning the last Sunday, when Black was fired after the game. They are 7-36 and 11 out of 12, as well as 19 of their last 22 have lost.
According to Denver Post, “I see it in this way – and I want boys to see it in this way,
Burns enters after their most effective start of the season, when he left a 3–0 win over Los Angeles Dojers on Saturday in five hits – All Singles – seven scorer innings.
He missed his previous scheduled beginning due to the correct shoulder inflammation, for which he took a shot of cortisone. He said that the injury felt like a “dead arm” he felt in previous spring training.
Bernus said, “I am confident, just knowing that it is something that I have dealt with in the past in spring training and it has not increased after that.”
