D-Back aims to ride ‘magical’ win in Remach vs. Meriners

Erizona Diamondback was out of a recession on Monday as Josh Niler bailed the walk-off Grand Slam to win 8–4 in 11 innings against Seattle Meriners.
Meriners will try to do so in the second competition of the three-game series in Phoenix on Tuesday.
Homer of his third hit Niler of the game helped the diamondback to snap the three-game losing streak.
“It was magical,” Arizona’s manager Tori Lovullo said about the victory.
Meriners scored four runs with two outs and there was no one in the ninth innings. He came vacant in the 10th and 11th innings, however, and lost for the sixth time in seven matches.
Seattle manager Dan Wilson said, “Continue to see the fight in these people and see them back after time.” “We were just a little younger.”
Arizona’s right-hand brandon PFAADT (7-4, 5.51 Era) is going to face the rogue Right-Hander Logan Evans (3-1, 2.83) of Meriners on Tuesday.
Brian Wu was originally scheduled to start on Tuesday for Mariners, but the team pushed him back to the conclusion of the series on Wednesday after Bryas Miller did not respond well for the cortisone shot. Miller will be placed in the injured list along with swelling of the right elbow.
Diamondback appeared on Monday to lose a valuable member of his pitching staff, when Justin Martinez was removed with the right elbow tightness with two outsiders in the ninth innings.
Martinez indicated the dugout after throwing a 1-0 pitch to Donovan Solano.
“High. Quite high,” Lovulo said about her concern about Martinez, who had Tommy John Surgery in 2021.
The pitcher has been prepared for MRI on Tuesday.
Diamondback stepped into a bulpen in the first day, in which Kendal Gravman was placed with a right hip in the injured list. He missed from the onset of the season with a lumbar stress and performed only nine for Erizona.
Meriners also retired in a step on Monday, which immediately paid dividends. Former diamondback outfielder Dominic Canzone, who was promoted to Triple-e-Tacoma, hit 450 feet to tie the game in the ninth innings.
Canzone hit 45 matches in Tacoma on 296 with 13 domestic runs, 36 RBI and one .924 OPS. Veteran outfielder LoD Taverus was nominated for assignments to make rooms.
“You just want to come out with victory and come back on the right path,” Canzone said. “I know we are struggling a little. It would have been a huge (win) to achieve this.”
Evans made a step to the mariners on the heels of injuries to George Kirby and Logan Gilbert to start this season.
Evans of certainty in its most recent presence made its best beginning, winning 9–1 win over the citizens of Washington on 27 May. Evans, who were given the option for Tacoma the next day, will face Arizona for the first time in his career.
PFAADT, who signed a contract of five years, $ 45 million in the first week of the season, returning after the worst start of his career. He gave eight runs on six hits without losing 11–7 to Washington on 31 May.
PFAADT allowed six runs (five earned) in three innings in Atlanta last Thursday. However, D-Back scored seven runs to win 11–10 in the ninth innings and dropped him out of the hook.
Seattle, a two -career PFAADT, has 3.86 Era without a decision.
