After losing the back-to-back series for the first time this season, the National League Central-Leiding Chicago cubs start six-game homestand against Miami Marlins on Monday night against Miami Marlins.
Colin Ri (2–0, 2.43 ERA) on Monday has a beginning for the cub against partner right-handed Caltrill (2-3, 7.11).
Both beginnings have struggled against their opponent in the past.

Alkantara was making her eighth beginning since Tommy John surgery remembered the entire 2024 season. The 2022 NL Sai Young Award winner is expected to be one of the most prestigious players available on the time limit of July trade, the maximum velocity (99.9 mph), strikeouts (eight) and seasons for pitches (107) in 5 2/3 innings.
“I liked the first five innings,” said Alkantara. “Just a bad pitch changed the game. Tried to execute my best slider and it went down in the middle and he just hit it.”
Miami Manager Clayton McCuloff thought that in the right hand “something really excellent pitch” was made in late count.
“Eight strikeouts are a very good sign,” said Maculla. “His belongings were staying because he was moving forward. The velocity was strong throughout. Not finished well, but, hopefully, some positivity to take away from moving forward.”
This was the 11th loss in the last 14 matches for Marlins, which is just 5–12 in the road game this season. Only Colorado Rockies (two) and White Sox (three) have a low road win.
