The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to suspend IPL 2025 on Friday for a week in view of India-Pakistan border tension. The decision was adjacent after a match between Delhi capitals and Punjab kings in Dharamshala on Thursday, had to leave the Central Marg, as many areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab came under attack. There were blackouts in different parts of the country as Pakistan’s air strikes and drones tried to infiltrate the airspace of North India. According to IPL sources, there was pressure from both franchisees as well as foreign cricketers to suspend the competition for time. However, there will be a meeting in a week time to discuss the future of IPL 2025.
The source said, “Cricket and BCCI will not bow to Pakistan.”
The BCCI said that the decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after consultation with all important stakeholders and said that the BCCI stands firmly with the government.

At this critical point, BCCI stands firmly with the nation. We express their solidarity with the Government of India, armed forces and people of our country.”
