“Crammed in Van”: Delhi Capital Star Mitchell Starc’s wife Alyssa Heli recalled Dharamasala’s terrible scenes

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is ready to resume on Saturday, as it was suspended due to geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan. The match between Punjab Kings (PBK) and Delhi Capital (DC) was discontinued due to security reasons, although the BCCI cited floodlights failure as the reason behind the suspension of the match. Since Dharmasala is not far from the border, a special train was organized to bring the players to New Delhi.

After reaching the national capital, the Indian players left for their cities, while foreign stars went back to their countries, agreeing on a ceasefire a few hours ago in India and Pakistan.

Australia’s women’s team captain Alyssa Heli, who was in Dharmasala to support her husband Michel Starc and DC, has recalled the dreadful night scenes in Dharmasala.

“This was a real experience. Suddenly a couple’s light towers went out and we were just sitting in the top waiting … We are a big group of family and additional assistant employees and the next minute the man who wraps our group and we get it in the bus and his face turned white,” Heli said on the Willow Talk Podcast.

Heli revealed that Faf du Plessis was also not wearing her shoes when she reached the dressing room, where Stark informed her that a nearby city was hit by a missile.

“He was so, ‘We need to go now’. Then another man came out and his face was white and he caught one of the children and said, ‘We need to leave now’. We loved, ‘What is going on?’ We were not told anything. He said that the city was given smack by some missiles, so there was a complete blackout in the area.

Heli also recalled that the scenes near the border were similar to gaming warzone.

“We (Pakistan) finished the border to go to the south-west, which was a bit terrible. Mich and I have played a lot of call of duty and we are all looking at the surface-to-micle sites that were just ready to go there. They are radar-operated systems that look through some small cities in the aircraft. Day. And then I was hopeful.
