Coaches of Rajasthan Royals explain what is a special talent in Vaibhav Suryavanshi

When Rajasthan Royals signed Kishori Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a fee of Rs 1.10 crore, not everyone was on the board with a franchise strategy to sign at the age of 13. At the age of 14, Vaibhav started his Indian Premier League, and a game later, he killed his first hundred in the T20 League. In doing so, young batting sensation broke several records, while questioning him for a league of IPL stature, he also silenced him. While fans only saw that Vaibhav is capable of match against Gujarat, Rajasthan’s scouts had already assessed their capabilities and therefore decided to print the young man in the mega auction last year.

After the game against Titans, Royals coach Vikram Rathore explained the technical aspects of the game of Vaibhav, which makes them ‘really, really special talent’.

“This was really special, really special. We have been looking at him in the trap for the last few months. We knew what he was able to do and the kind of shots he could play. But in front of such a large crowd, in front of such a large crowd, in a high pressure, a strong bowling attack – it was really special. It was a lot of credit for him.

He said, “He is a special, special talent. Technically, he has a magnificent downswing, which helps him to generate that kind of power. Today, he showed everyone how good he is really. Honestly, you can keep talking endlessly about that knock,” he further explained.

Vaibhav hit 7 fours and 11 sixes while staying in the middle of him, which lasted for 38 balls. Rathore was really stunned to see the ball hitting at the age of 14, the way Vaibhav did.

“To play this way for a 14 -year -old child – he is special. We saw him about four months ago during the first time, and from that moment, we knew that we had found something extraordinary. It was up to us to nurture him and bring him to this level. Credit – he kept his veins, he showed great nature, and played an extraordinary innings today.”
