Chess Bisco claimed the position of its third consecutive NASCAR Cup series pole on Saturday morning, with the Gibbs Racing Driver taking the top honor at the Michigan International Speedway for Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400.
Brisco’s number 19 JGR Toyota traveled 195.514 mph for his fourth pole of the season – the bus was the best to Kail Busch of Richard Children Racress Racress racing, which will begin with the lap of 195.317 in number 8 Chevrolet. This is equivalent to the best beginning of the season of Basch (Taldga, second in Ala.).
Kyle Larsen of Hendric Motorsports has won pole posts in three consecutive races in three consecutive races in Richmond, Michigan and Texas last April last April, when a driver won the pole posts for the first time.
“I was really surprised.” But our bass pro shops have been very fast in the race trim and I felt that we could be even better.
“It will be better than starting from the front and we are able to do so now in three consecutive weeks, but not executed with it, so hopefully there is a third time there is a attraction and hope that we can finally get one on Sunday.”
Brisco’s Gibbs Racing Team fellow, Denny Hamlin, Number 11 was the third fastest in Toyota and will start the number 24 hendric motorcysts Chevrolet with the current NASCAR Cup series leader, William Bayran. Interestingly, none of those two championship teams have won 2-miles at Michigan Oval in a decade.
The final victory for Hendric was in 2014 and the last for Gibbs in 2015.
However, Handric’s lineup now claims a three -time Michigan winner in Larsen, who won the first series of his career on the track in 2016, driving for chip Ganasi racing. The 2021 NASCAR Cup series champion Larsen will roll on the fifth Sunday with another former Michigan winner (2023) Roush Fenway Keselowski’s Chris BuesCher.
Larsen said, “I feel fine, unfortunately there was failure in the part,”
“It was nice today and kept it open in qualifying, as it was done throughout the region.
“Hopefully, we can get a little more turn tomorrow. I think we are all very similar at speed, it will be difficult in traffic so it will be a benefit to have some twist. This is our main objective at this point.
“But happy to be in the fifth place overall. It is a little better than honestly as I thought we would be. Now we will rest and study and try to be ready for tomorrow.”
Defending the race winner, Tyler Radic of 23xi Racing was ranked 12th in qualifying – as well as last week’s Nashville Race winner, Team Penscay’s Ryan Blanne faced a tire problem in behavior. Blanyy will play the 13th.
-RFK’s Busher for Jeet
Looking at the last two years, the summer has been productive for shelter in the months.
Last year, he won his only season in Watkins Glenn in September.
Two years ago, the driver of the number 17 RKF Ford won again at the end of the regular season of his three win-win-Richmond (July 30) and Michigan (7 August), then at the end of the regular season of Detona International Speedway in late August.
After going to this week’s firekeepers Casino 400 in Michigan, the busher is the only one of the three RFK drivers ranked above the playoff cutoff line – ranked 15th in the championship by playoff standing; In the event of that final playoffs, Kyle Busch is six points on Busch and only eight points on their RFK team partner Ryan Preis in the 17th.
Buecher is definitely hopeful that he can recover some of that Michigan magic on two-millers. He led the race of 52 out of 200 laps and defeated Martin Truex Junior for 152 seconds for his victory two years ago. 14 Michigan initially has only three top 10 – but two in the last two races (winning last year and sixth). This is not enough to believe her more, but gives her some optimism in all the important summer months of the competition. With such a close point, a win can be the best option to earn a playoff bid.
“You cannot depend on the points to get you in the playoff when it is as tight as it is every week,” said Busher. [Playoff cutoff] We will know about the line, but it is a matter of finding out how to go to the race of victory and we have not done so yet.
“We are not quite good and we are trying to clean the work of some detail and do a little difficult study and can be better than my end behind the wheel and make it where we basically lock ourselves on that side and there is no idea of that idea behind our head.
“But I certainly do not want it to be the same as we are sitting here how we can get two points here, there can get three points and try and just feel that we can skate in our own way. It doesn’t work. After all, you can’t trust that when it comes down to the end.”
-Hosavor and Stenhouse
In the last weekend race at Nashville SupersDeway, 22-year-old Carson Hoswar and veteran Ricky collided on the Junior track-the day ends for the Stanhouse. But the hosumver was able to rally for another place – showing his career the best in the NASCAR Cup series.
After the race, the stenhouse was understood, but the two drivers reported that they had talked, and all are moving forward, even though they do not necessarily agree last week.
“I and I have the reputation of both, I think, many times and everything being aggressive, so at that one point, we both reminded each other that even with those reputation, we have run each other very well together, okay?” So, yes, I mean we had no problem earlier, as he said, and I think we have a decent relationship. ,
Stenhouse told Siriusxm NASCAR Radio this week that he was satisfied with the conversation between the two, “I felt it was productive and, based on their comments, I felt that it was received.”
Hoswar, who ranked 14th position for the race for the NASCAR Cup series and is also competing in the race for Saturday’s NASCAR craftsman truck series, looked peacefully, where things sit and admit that he would talk about the improvement of his number 77 Spire Motorsports Team. They already had the best pair of runner-up efforts and earned less than three top-10-half of their full season last year.
On Saturday, when asked if he was satisfied to go to his aggressive driving style – some journalists compared him to his hero Dale Arnhard – Hosavor insisted that he was only himself.
“Everything about me is real … as I am not trying to play a part, trying to fit a role or trying to pretend to be someone,” he said. “But, you know, it’s for everyone what they get and see me. I know who I am and, you know, after all, I want me and sometimes compared to me.”
-Pennske focus
Last week’s Nashville Race winner, Team Penscay’s Ryan Blene was asked about relief that he finally felt that the first trophy of the year – and guarantee of the playoff status – after being so close to victory several times this season. He insisted that his team’s approach would not really be “change”.
“This is indeed nothing different.” “We try to win the race every week and no matter what place you are, whether you are not closed on victory or you are. We did a great job last week to close one in the end and you just try to do it again.
“Many people talk about it. Do you change a mindset when winning and you are locked? I have never accepted so. I always, for me, at least and for our group, for our group, it is just we prepare every week as you are trying to win the race, whether you live, zero or five, it’s the same thing.”
-Bey Watch
Who remains on “Baby Watch” for the second weekend of Gibbs Racing. His fiance, Jordan, are the reasons for giving birth to a child – his third child – anytime. Hemalin flew back to his Charlotte-Kshetra house after qualifying to stay with Jordan on Saturday afternoon and returned to Michigan just before Sunday’s green flag.
