Charlotte FC starts a long road trip in New York to face Red Bulls

With his first win over a month, Charlotte FC on Wednesday began a season-lamb, a five-match road trip against New York Red Bulls in Harrison, NJ.
Charlotte (7–7–1, 22 points) lost the MLS of five matches with a 3–2 win over Columbus on Saturday. This was the first win of the club in the league since April 19.
For coach Dean Smith, the end of the skid was always around the corner to its side.
“The result is not a surprise for me,” Smith said that Charlotte won his sixth domestic game in eight this season.
“I think our performances are perhaps worthy of more points we have received in the last five matches. And we have probably scored more points in the first nine matches than before, where we overlated.”
Charlotte looked at his most dangerous attackers and looked at Columbus as another necklace initially after accepting an early target.
Patrick Agyang, who led the club with five goals, scored his first brace of the season in a five -minute span to give the lead to Charlotte, while Pep Beel provided late game winner. Wilfred Zaha recorded his first two assistance of the season. The three have combined for 13 goals in the season.
“We were feeling dangerous today,” agyemang said on Saturday.
“This is how we are considered as one in front.”
Charlotte will now have to try and produce on the road, something that has not happened till date with a win in seven matches (1-5-1) from home.
Red Bulls (6-6-3, 21 points) lost their own streaks on Saturday with a 2–0 win in rivals DC United.
Cameron Harper opened the scoring just before the halftime with his second goal of the season, while Mohammad Sofo closed the match with a goal in the third, stoppage time of his campaign.
This was the first road winning of New York season (1-5-2).
After the match, Red Bulls defender Cameron Harper not only talked about the importance of winning away from home, but also jumped back into one of the last playoff spots, at least for this time.
After collecting all three points on Saturday, Red Bulls said, “There was a lot of ride on the game.”
“This is such a victory that can turn your season around. Now we have two domestic sports and obviously our house record is good so hopefully we can reach good form.”
New York, which wins this season to post the league continuously, claims a 5-1-1-1 record at home.
Red Bulls (3–0-3) are unbeaten in all the competitions in all competitions with Charlotte.
