CF Montreal acquires GK Thomas Gilier from Bologna

CF Montreal on Tuesday acquired the goalkeeper Thomas Gilier on a loan from Seri A Side Bologna FC.

The deal lasts until the end of the 2025 season and includes the option to expand the loan through 2026.

The 21 -year -old Gillier recently joined Bologna after performing 26 for the Universidad Catolica in his original Chile.

Montreal Managing Director Luka Saputo said, “We are happy to welcome Thomas to the club.” “He is a young goalkeeper with a lot of capacity that will add quality to the team. We are confident that he will quickly integrate in the group and bring healthy competition between our goalkeepers.”

Both Montreal and Bologna are owned by Joy Saputo, which facilitates the player movement between the two clubs.

On July 24, the MLS Secondary Transfer Window opens will be eligible to play the gillier.
