Casey Miz, Tigers overwhelmed Skiding Rockies

KC Misee played six strong innings, Spencer Torkelson took two hits and three RBI and Detroit Tigers on Thursday afternoon at Denver a doublehead opener against Colorado Rockies.

Justin-Henry Maloy, Andy Ibnez, Xavier Baiz, Gliber Torres and Trey Sweeny also made two hits for Detroit, which ended with 14 hits.

Jordan Beck scored more in the ninth for Colorado, which has lost five of its first 36 matches in this season and 30.

Mise (6–1) left the same leader from under the first innings, then faced the next 13 batsmen, which they faced.

Nick Martini broke the string with an-out single in the fifth, Mickey Moniyak went third on the double and scored on a sacrifice fly.

In the sixth innings, Miz finished his day by striking the next in order. He gave one run on three hits, eight to throw and a batsman did not run.

He has allowed only one run in three of his last four outings.

Tigers jumped on Starter Kyle Freeland in the first innings. Zach McKinstry launched a rally with two-outs single and scored on Ibnesis double. Torkelson left a sharp single to leave it 2–0.

Detroit sent nine batsmen into a plate in the second innings. Tomas Nido and Sweeni sang and Maloy went to load the hideouts. Torace brought a run with a single, another run shortstop Alan Trejo and Ibness’s sacrifice fly on an error and made it 5–0. Torkelson chased with two-ri doubles.

Tigers added to the third. The badges doubled and scored on a single by Sweeni, who moved to another location on an error and scored on Maloy’s single.

Freeland (0–5) was done after three innings. He allowed nine runs (five earned) and surrendered 11 hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Detroit added another run in the seventh against Reliever Angel Chivili. Torkelson arrived at the choice of a fielder, moved to another location on a groundout and scored on the single single.
