European captain Anna Nordqvist on Monday nominated Sweden’s Caroline Headwal and England’s Mail Reid as Vice Captain for the 2026 Solhem Cup.
The biennial competition against the United States will be held from 7–13, 2026 in Bernardus Golf, Netherlands from September.
Headwal, 35, has represented Europe five times in the Solhem Cup. This is his first selection as Vice captain.
“I was very thrilled when Anna invited me to be one of his Vice Captains in 2026 as the Solhem Cup certainly provided many important moments of my career,” she said. “Anna and I have shared a lot of experiences, both on tour and European teams together, that I feel that we are aligning a lot in our thinking how to help the European team to ensure that the European team is able to perform in its best. The 37 -year -old Reid played for Europe four times in the Solhem Cup and was the Vice captain in 2019 and 2024.

I have been honored that Anna asked me to be one of his Vice Captains. The 37 -year -old Nord Cavist of Sweden has been familiar with both golfers for many years.
“I have known Caroline and Mail since I was 13 and 17 years old, as I enjoyed playing with him for my entire career,” he said. “We have many good memories as team colleagues and friends, so I am happy with our behalf because we take a new challenge in our golfing career as Captain in the Netherlands. The United States won the most recent edition of the Solhem Cup in Virginia in 2024. Angela Stanford will work as a captain for Americans in 2026.
