Carlos Alkaraz in Paris, Lorenzo Mussetty dropped Americans

The US run in Rolland Garos is over, as Spanish star Carlos Alkaraz rejected Tommy Paul in straight sets after defeating French Tiafo by Italian Lorenzo Musti in the French Open Quarterfinal on Tuesday in Paris.

It qualifies Mussetti’s second Grand Slam semi -final berth and the third straight year semi of defending champion Alkaraz.

Number 2 seeds, Alkaraj dominated the 12th seeded Paul in 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 victory.

“I played many times against Tommy, and each match was really difficult,” Alakraj said after the match. “He defeated me twice, helping me focus on my tennis at the beginning of the match … trying not to go down or let him go in the match.”

Paul, who defeated the 24th and 25th seeded players in the last two rounds, was the first American man to reach the quarter -finals in Rolland Garos since Andre Agassi in 2003. After Paul’s 16 wins, Tiafo reiterated his achievement.

On Tuesday, number 15 Seed Tiapho ran into a red-hot Musetti, eighth seed. Mussetti became strong from 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
