St. Louis Cardinals stabbed Star Third Basman Nolan Arenado with a right index finger against Atlanta Braves on Friday night.
Aranado, which was 1 -for -3, was converted into a seventh innings by Thomas Saggi. However, it was not clear how Aranado hurt the finger, it is the same injury that excluded her from two games last week, which was during a series against Pittsburgh Pirates.
Cardinals tried to trade in the last Offsen, an eight-time all-star and a 10-time gold glove winner, but did not find a suitable partner, and the 34-year-old was expected to be a business candidate before the July 31 deadline.
Aranado extended its average to .246 with its single Friday. He has 10 domestic runs and 42 RBI in 84 matches this season.
Earlier in the same game, Braves also removed their third basman, saying that Austin relays were reducing the stomach tightness. Riley ran the first run of the game on the first-inning single.
