Andrew Mangiapen scored a Go-Farward goal with 3:37 remaining in the third period and Visiting Washington Capital defeated Montreal Canadines 5–2 in Game 4 of the first series of his Eastern Conference on Sunday night.
Dialyn Strome controlled a stretch pass at Center Ice from Trevor Van Rimsdech, crossed the blue line and dropped Pak Mangiapene, which scored his first goal of the series on a high wrist shot from the slot.
Brandon Duheim scored in the vacant net with 2:39 and Tom Wilson did so for 55 seconds for the 5-2 finals.
Capital led the seven-seven series, and the game 5 on Wednesday night is in Washington.

Juraj Slafkovski and Cole Coffield scored for Canadines, which are the second wild cards from the east. Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson each had two assistance and Jakub Dobs, which started in place of the injured Sam Montembolt, saving 21.

Strome gave Capital a 1-0 lead at 1:25 in the second period. Anthony Bevelier excluded the two canadins and placed the Pak on the round, and withdrew the rebound house.

Slafkovski tied it 1–1 on a power play at 10:33. Demidov skating behind the net and fed Slafkovski for one-time from the bottom of the left circle.
Caufield gave Canadines a 2–1 lead at 18:32 in the second period, when he scored a power-play goal from a nearby circle from a pass near Hutton. This was his third goal of the series.
Duheim equaled 2–2 at 6:39 of the third period. Dobs made early savings on the Daheim under the right circle, but Pak deformed the crease in the off -coffee.
