Can Virat Kohli break Sachin Tendulkar’s ‘100 centuries’ records? Odi schedule paint grim picture

If there was a player who was considered eligible to improve 100 international records of Sachin Tendulkar, then it was Virat Kohli. When Tendulkar was asked at an award ceremony after killing his 100th century, who could break his record, he took two names: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Within a week, both Rohit and Virat retired from the test format. Kohli, who left the test area on Monday, is still 18 hundreds away from equaling incredible milestones and is now just a format to play, perhaps for a maximum of two years. In an era when the relevance of the 50-over format is a constant debate, killing 19 hundreds in ODI is a humble work. Kohli is characterized by Kohli at the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Earlier, India has to play only 27 Odis, including a three-match series against Bangladesh in August-September.
It seems that Tendulkar’s record is ‘to live here’.
Tendulkar scored in 200 tests in 51 centuries and 463 Odis in 49 centuries.
Kohli hit 30 centuries in 123 tests, 51 in 302 Odis and one of the 125 T20I games.
Former Captain Rohit has scored a total of 49 centuries, including 12 in 12 Tests, 32 in ODI and five in T20s.
After Tendulkar and Kohli, in the list of batsmen for the most centuries in international cricket, Ricky Ponting (71) of Australia, Kumar Sangakkara (63) of Sri Lanka, Jack of South Africa Jack (62) and Hashim Amla (55), Mahale of Sri Lanka.
Kohli’s contemporary England’s Joe Root (53), Australia’s Steve Smith (48) and New Zealand’s Ken Williamson (48) are also at the end of their career and have no chance to be close to Tendulkar’s record.
