Came Smith gave a belt to two homeers as part of his first career four-hit game and Houston Astro gave five long balls to win a 13–3 victory on athletics in West Sacramento, California on Tuesday night.
The Maurisio Dubone, Christian Walker and Cooper Samel also deepened as Houston won the 15 hits for the sixth time in seven matches. Duban finished 3-for-3 with two walks, and Smith scored three RBI and three times.
Gio Urshela had two of the four hits of athletics. A saw that his season-secretant four-game winning streak was over.
Jason Alexander (1-0) was solid in his Houston debut, taking a shutout in the seventh innings in his first Major League since 2022.
Alexander was accused of having three runs, three hits and three walks in a six-plus innings. He killed four against athletics, the team was before this season until Houston claimed to be away from the waves on 18 May.
AK Starter JP Sears (5-6) allowed five runs and five hits in 3 1/3 innings. He went three and no one killed. Sears served three homes – allowed the same number when he taunted him for nine runs and 10 hits for nine runs and 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings on 27 May.
Houston loaded the hideouts with two outsiders in the first innings, before Jake Mayors left Sears.
Smith carried the second innings a 3–0 with a left-center with a 415-foot explosion.
Smith opened the fourth with a long shot with a long-time, it was traveling a 431 feet. On the next pitch, Dabon left a homer 5–0.
Oswaldo Bido was on the mound in the fifth when Yoner Diaz led a single and walker reached the left-center with a two-run homer. Isaac Parades gave it a two-nine single in the innings to make it 9–0.
Dubon rushed to an informed single against TJ McFarland to start from seventh, and Hammel made it 11–0 with a 431-foot shot.
Alexander made a one-hit shutout in the seventh before Brent Rooker’s running and Nick Kurtaz doubled. Urashela hit an RBI single, and Austin Wings reached the error thrown by the third baseless parade, which allowed Kurtaz to score.
Kaleb Ort replaced Alexander and inspired Luis ureaus to hit a double play as Athletics got their third run.
Smith produced an RBI double in Houston’s two runs eighth.
